Position Overview

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a Kenworth dealership branch. This role oversees all departments — truck sales, service, and parts — to ensure operational excellence, profitability, and outstanding customer service. The Branch Manager plays a key role in business development, customer retention, and meeting sales goals, while fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop department managers to achieve sales, service, and parts performance goals.
  • Approve hiring, terminations, and transfers of management-level staff while promoting growth and training initiatives.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching to improve productivity and morale.
  • Lead weekly manager meetings to ensure alignment across all departments.

Operational Management

  • Manage daily branch operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company standards.
  • Develop and submit annual business plans and budgets to the VP of Operations and CFO for approval.
  • Review financial statements, departmental forecasts, and operating metrics to maintain profitability.
  • Provide accurate weekly updates to the VP of Operations regarding dealership performance.
  • Ensure all financial reporting is accurate and submitted on time.

Sales & Business Growth

  • Work in conjunction with the sales manager to drive truck sales to meet or exceed Kenworth heavy-duty and medium-duty truck quotas.
  • Collaborate with the marketing manager to develop merchandising strategies and cost-effective advertising campaigns.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities in truck sales, parts, and service.
  • Build strong relationships with customers to improve satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure exceptional customer service across all departments.
  • Resolve escalated customer complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor the company’s reputation and take corrective action when needed.

Facility & Compliance Management

  • Oversee facility maintenance, equipment upkeep, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, company procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Enforce company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, and safety in all work areas.
  • Uphold the company’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in the truck dealership, automotive, or heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong understanding of truck sales, service, and parts operations.
  • Proven track record of achieving financial and operational goals.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop strategy, and drive performance improvements.
