Experienced Diesel Technician/Shop Forman
Do
you take pride in your wrench work, thrive in a fast-paced shop, and have a
deep understanding of heavy-duty trucks? Ready to step into a leadership role
with a family-owned dealership that’s part of one of Ohio’s largest Kenworth
groups? Kenworth of Zanesville is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel
Technician / Shop Foreman to help lead our service team and keep our customers’
trucks on the road where they belong.
Responsibilities
- Supervise
and support all service floor technicians daily
- Assist
with complex diagnostics and troubleshooting to keep repairs moving efficiently
- Perform
quality control checks, including test drives and inspections as needed
- Monitor
technician productivity and ensure work is completed accurately and on time
- Communicate
with customers regarding repair status, delays, and financial responsibilities
- Maintain
shop organization, enforce tool usage policies, and ensure cleanliness
standards
- Enforce
warranty procedures and ensure proper documentation to minimize claim
rejections
- Assist
with service write-ups and repair order scheduling
- Promote
a positive, professional team culture by leading by example and resolving
issues quickly
- Follow
and enforce company safety protocols; report unsafe activities immediately
- Ensure
compliance with company policies, timekeeping, and attendance standards
- Obtain
prior approval from the Service Manager for any overtime, purchases, or
time-off requests
- Participate
in ongoing leadership training and stay up to date on OEM guidelines and
procedures
- Maintain
compliance with Hissong Group’s Drug-Free Workplace policy
- Apply
strong mechanical knowledge of Kenworth and other heavy-duty truck systems to
support technicians
- Demonstrate
excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills on the shop floor
- Communicate
clearly and professionally with team members, technicians, and customers
- Act
as a mentor, leader, and role model to foster growth and accountability
- Commit
to high standards of safety, quality workmanship, and overall team success
Requirements:
High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
