Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Perform all tasks including operating machinery and
tools in a safe and responsible manner.
- Perform thorough inspections, troubleshooting, and
diagnostic testing to determine necessary repairs on Class 5-8 trucks.
- Accurately diagnose and repair engine, mechanical,
and electrical system malfunctions.
- Replace parts and components as needed and in
accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Conduct vehicle test drives to verify serviceability
and ensure quality repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure
customer vehicle cleanliness.
- Utilize warranty information and evaluate repair
options to control costs.
- Communicate with service advisors and parts teams regarding
additional repair needs as needed.
- Assist service advisors with work orders, test rides,
and customer interactions.
- Document all work performed and recommended according
to company standards.
- Maintain industry terminology fluency and adhere to
company training requirements including staying up to date on technical
bulletins.
- Comply with attendance and timekeeping standards.
- Adhere to all Hissong Group Employee Handbook policies
and management directives up to and including maintain a drug free work
policy.
- Maintain confidentiality of PACCAR, Kenworth, and
Hissong Group proprietary information.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attend
required training and meetings.
- Provide mentorship to apprentice technicians when
necessary.
- Other duties as they may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining and
repairing Class 5-8 trucks.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills.
- Ability to lift 50lbs, and perform tasks that require
bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to use computers for diagnostic purposes.
